Obruche Heinanen is a managing associate in our Business Law Group in London, England. She has a broad corporate and finance practice, which includes LSE and AIM capital market transactions; cross boarder, public and private mergers M&A; and secured and unsecured lending. Obruche has worked across a wide range of industries including energy, mining, private equity, tech and telehealth.
Obruche applies her multifaceted experience to achieving holistic and strategic solutions for her clients. She is an active participant in McCarthy Tétrault’s inclusion initiatives and has a deep interest in the routes to sustainable growth in Africa.
Obruche received an LLB from London South Bank University, completed the BVC at the Inns of Court School of Law and received an LLM in Corporate and Commercial Law from University College London. She is a member of the General Council of the Bar, the Honorable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, the Law Society of England and Wales, and the Surrey Law Society.

- H2O Innovation Inc. in connection with US$85 million amended and restated credit facilities from National Bank of Canada and a syndicate of lenders
- Scotiabank, CIBC and RBC in connection with an amendment and restatement of a C$150 million revolving credit facility to Ecora Resources Plc
- Groupe Solotech Inc. in connection with C$300 million amended and restated credit facilities from Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec and a syndicate of lenders
- Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec and a syndicate of lenders in connection with an amendment and restatement of a C$255 million credit facility to Ocean Choice International
