Oana is a counsel in our Financial Services Group in Toronto. Her practice focuses on lending transactions, including syndicated and bilateral financings, acquisition financings, project finance, and multi-jurisdictional and multi-currency transactions. She has represented Canadian and foreign banks and financial institutions as well as borrowers in various industries, including in the infrastructure, energy and mining sectors.
Prior to joining McCarthy Tétrault, Oana worked as an associate in the financial services group at a leading international law firm. She primarily advised clients (both borrowers and lenders) on debt financing transactions.
Oana recently completed a secondment with an international bank where she advised the global banking team on a variety of matters relating to global financing transactions.
Oana was called to the Ontario Bar in 2012 after completing her J.D. at the University of Western Ontario. Oana also holds a Masters in Political Science from York University and a B.A. (Hons.) in Political Science and Ethics, Society & Law from the University of Toronto.
