Known to be an active listener with a deep understanding of client needs and interests, Nicolas has been advising and guiding his clients for over 15 years. Drawing on a wide experience in strategic counselling, Nicolas seeks innovative approaches in bringing swift and practical solutions to every dispute.

As a partner in our Litigation Group, Nicolas’ practice focuses on civil litigation, and more specifically on complex technical litigation requiring expert and elaborate evidence weaving. A significant part of his practice is dedicated to health law, acting counsel for physicians with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) in a wide array of civil and disciplinary matters. The human dimension of this practice is in line with his values. He also practices in environmental litigation and has acted in several major cases involving soil and groundwater contamination, as well as in important major nuisance cases.

Nicolas is actively involved in the firm, particularly in the recruitment of lawyers and by acting as a mentor to younger lawyers. He also contributes to the development of the profession, having been elected in 2021 and 2022 to the Board of Directors of the Barreau de Québec. As a member of the board, he is called upon to serve on the Liaison Committee with the Superior Court, the Liaison Committee with the Court of Quebec, Criminal Division, the Comité de promotion et d’utilisation des modes de prevention et de règlement des différends and the Sous-comité de valorisation du personnel administratif dans les milieux juridiques. Nicolas was also the chair of the Board of Directors of the Club de ski Stoneham (2019-2021), a board member of Skibec (2019-2021) and an ambassador of the Canadian Cancer Society (2020, 2021 and 2022) and of the charitable organization Vide ta sacoche (2022).
