Nicholas Fitz is counsel in McCarthy Tétrault’s Litigation Group in Toronto, practising principally in the area of financial services litigation.

Nick has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, including the Small Claims Court up to and including trial. He has also argued motions for leave to appeal before the Court of Appeal for Ontario, and has prosecuted numerous provincial offences matters before the Ontario Court of Justice.

Prior to joining McCarthy Tétrault, Nick articled and then practised civil litigation in the legal department of one of the country’s largest municipalities.

Nick received his Honours BA (with High Distinction) from the University of Toronto, and his JD from Queen’s University. While in law school, Nick was heavily involved with the student legal aid clinic, for which he was awarded the McDougall-Watson Memorial Award, Dan Soberman Award, and Robinson-Ryan Award.

Nick was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2016. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Advocates’ Society.
