Miguel Bourbonnais is a partner in the litigation group of the Montréal office of McCarthy Tétrault. His expertise is primarily focused on commercial litigation, with emphasis on corporate litigation, shareholder disputes, securities and financial fraud, construction litigation, banking and bankruptcy and insolvency.
Miguel regularly pleads before the Superior Court and in appeal as well as before the Bureau de décision et de révision (formerly the Bureau de décision et de révision en valeurs mobilières). He shared in the team victory (he was a member of the winning team) in an important case that raised complex legal questions on the rights of the Crown) before the Supreme Court of Canada. In addition, he has experience in arbitration.
Miguel served as president of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency section of the Canadian Bar Association from 2010 to 2011, and is actively involved in the Théâtre du Grand Jour, where he sits on the Board of Directors.
