Matthew is currently completing a Bachelor of Civil Law and Juris Doctor at McGill University’s Faculty of Law. Prior to law school, Matthew completed a Hons. Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management, as well as a Master’s of Political Management at Carleton University. Before starting law school, he worked on Parliament Hill for several years as a political advisor to a Member of Parliament, the Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship, and the Minister of Families, Children, and Social Development.
Since starting law school, Matthew has rounded out his legal education with legal-clinic experience, working at Innocence McGill, the Legal Information Clinic at McGill, and Pro Bono Students Canada. This summer, Matthew will serve as one of the Directors of Innocence McGill, leading a team to review and help overturn wrongful convictions for serious criminal offenses.
Matthew has been an avid debater since high-school, having won the North American Universities Debating Championship and Canadian National Debating Championship for intercollegiate debate while at Carleton.
