Mathilde Melançon-Brais is an associate in our Business Law Group in Montréal. Her practice focuses on corporate law, particularly corporate finance, banking and mergers and acquisitions.
Mathilde has acted in transactions for the purchase and sale of private corporations, syndicated loans, and secured lending transactions, including acquisition and project financings. She represents banks and other financial institutions as well as borrowers in connection with the implementation of credit facilities and the taking of security both in national and international transactions.
Mathilde completed her bachelor of law degree at the Université de Montréal in 2019 (LL.B.) with mention in the Dean’s honour roll. She graduated with an honours of excellence and won the Lavery de Billy Award for Excellence in Environmental Law. She also received two scholarships for admission to the Faculty of Law, including the François-Chevrette Admission Scholarship. During her studies, Mathilde was an active member of the Corporation of Graduating Law Students of the Université de Montréal as treasurer.
Mathilde was admitted to the Barreau du Québec in 2021.
