Marco Wai is an associate in the MT>Ventures division of McCarthy Tétrault in Toronto. He regularly advises startup and emerging companies in a wide variety of corporate and commercial matters, including venture capital investments, equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance.
Marco received his law degree from the University of Toronto. During law school, he provided pro bono legal services as a caseworker at Downtown Legal Services. Marco completed an exchange semester during his third year of law school at the University of Hong Kong.
Prior to law school, Marco received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University, graduating with High Distinction. During business school, he worked as a teaching assistant for an undergraduate business course at the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics.
Marco was called to the Ontario bar in 2020 and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as an associate at an international law firm and as a legal counsel for a public technology company.
