Lévy is a partner in our firm’s national Business Law Group, based in Montréal, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, project development, and asset management in the infrastructure and renewable energy sectors.
Lévy advises clients on strategic matters and oversees the governance of business transactions, leveraging his extensive experience managing complex transactions and projects across multiple sectors. With extensive client-side experience as a former in-house counsel, Lévy has successfully facilitated the acquisition and sale of renewable energy assets in North America and Europe, negotiated critical partnership agreements, and overseen legal aspects of diverse infrastructure, renewable and real estate developments.
Select experience includes:
- Partnership Negotiations for Energy Storage Projects: Negotiated partnership agreements with Six Nations of the Grand River and Walpole Island First Nation for energy storage projects of 300MW and 80MW in Ontario and supported the negotiation of supply agreements.
- Acquisition of Wind Farms from EDF Renewables: Facilitated the acquisition of the majority stake of EDF Renewables in five wind farms with a total installed capacity of 894 MW in Texas and New Mexico for CAD 340 million.
- Acquisition of Solar Parks from Centaurus Renewable Energy: Managed the acquisition of a majority stake in seven solar parks with a total installed capacity of 209 MW in California, Indiana, and Alabama for CAD 283 million.
- Acquisition of Wind Farms from Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec: Oversaw the acquisition of a 49% stake in three wind farms in Quebec, representing 145 MW of installed capacity, for CAD 121.5 million.
- Refinancing of Niagara Region Wind Farm: Handled the refinancing of CAD 805 million for the 230 MW Niagara Region Wind Farm in Ontario, which is jointly owned with the Six Nations of the Grand River.
- Infrastructure Projects: Worked on several infrastructure projects, including the new hospital complex of the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal, the new Glen Campus of the McGill University Health Centre and the Highway 25 project.
- Real Estate Development Projects: Worked on several real estate development projects, including Bay Park Centre in Toronto, Texas Tower in Houston, Maison Manuvie in Montreal, Fairmont the Queen Elizabeth transformation, and Outlet Collection Winnipeg.
Lévy received a B.A.A from HEC Montreal in 2001 and L.L.B from the University of Montreal in 2004.
