Laurence Angers-Routhier is an associate in our Litigation Group in Montréal. Her practice is mainly focused on civil and commercial litigation, more specifically contractual litigation, banking litigation, securities litigation and manufacturer’s liability. Laurence also has extensive expertise in administrative law and constitutional law, and she has a strong interest in public and government affairs.

Laurence’s work in litigation also focuses on health-related industries, notably the pharmaceutical and health industries, in matters of professional liability and medical liability.

Prior to joining the firm in 2021, Laurence practised at a major firm where she articled before joining the firm as a lawyer. She gained extensive experience in representations before Québec judicial and administrative bodies, for both the plaintiffs and the defendants.

Clients that Laurence has represented include:

  • Two associations intervening in support of the constitutional challenge to the sections of the law governing the eligibility and administration of medical assistance in dying in Québec and Canada;
  • A highly specialized mining company prosecuted, together with other stakeholders of a mining development project, for damages associated with alleged design defects of machinery;
  • A port company in the context of a constitutional litigation involving the Bureau de la sécurité privée;
  • A leading Canadian bank targeted by a class action regarding its mortgage practices;
  • A telecommunications company in a civil liability case relating to damages to underground utilities.

Laurence obtained her bachelor’s degree in civil law from Université de Montréal in 2017 and was called to the Québec Bar in 2018. She is currently completing a Master of Business Administration, with a major in business management, at Université Laval.

Since 2019, she volunteers as a member of the Young Leaders Circle of the Marie-Vincent Foundation, which actively helps support children and teenagers victim of sexual and physical violence, while working to prevent such violence.
