Kate is a Managing Associate in the firm’s Business Law group. Based in the firm’s London office, Kate has an international practice and has an integral role within the firm’s Global Mining and Oil & Gas practices.
Kate maintains a general corporate and securities practice which includes corporate finance, public and private mergers and acquisitions on a trade and private equity basis. Kate has vast experience representing both insureds and insurers with transactional risk insurance policies both in relation to general warranty and indemnity insurance cover, title/legal indemnity insurance and contingent risk insurance policies.
Kate has acted for a number of multinational corporations and banks on transactional matters and has advised on a number of major domestic and cross-border financial transactions. Notable transactions include:
- Advising Carracal Energy Inc on its $700m takeover of TransGlobe Energy Corp and subsequent and current £807million acquisition by Glencore
- Acting for Coastal Energy Company on its $2.3bilion merger with CEPSA and its subsequent de-listing from TSX and AIM
- English counsel to Kirkland Lake Gold Inc. on its C$69m Canadian bought deal offering of convertible unsecured debentures & subsequent block-listing of shares
Kate read a BA(hons) in International Business with French and Italian before completing the Graduate Diploma in Law and LPC at BPP, London.
