Judy Tian completed a dual BSocSc/JD program (magna cum laude) at the University of Ottawa, where she was awarded the Catherine Helen MacLean Memorial Upper-Year Bursary and the Roger Guindon Scholarship. During law school, Judy worked at a venture capital firm and assisted with equity and debt financing transactions. In addition, Judy worked at the Ontario Securities Commission’s Investor Office, where she had the opportunity to work closely with securities law experts at Canada’s largest securities regulator.
During her time at the University of Ottawa, Judy served on the Executive Board of the University of Ottawa Business Law Society and worked as a Senior Caseworker for the University of Ottawa Business Law Clinic. Additionally, Judy worked with Professor Colleen Flood and conducted research on Canadian health privacy laws in order to develop a privacy framework for a mobile app that stores vaccination records and tracks disease outbreaks.
Outside of school and work, Judy enjoys travelling, painting, and cycling.
