Jonathan completed his BCL/JD at McGill University's Faculty of Law. He also holds a BComm from Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business with a major in finance, a semester of which was completed at Universidad Carlos III in Madrid.
Jonathan has remained committed to exploring issues residing at the intersection of law and technology. He authored a white paper that offers a comparative analysis between Canada and Israel with respect to the design of innovation policy-creating administrative bodies. He also authored a research paper on international investment arbitration and emerging financial technologies, which was sent to Global Affairs Canada by his supervising professor. Jonathan has gained practical experience in the technology law space by summering at a fintech-focused boutique law firm in Singapore and by leading the Canadian operations of Tech7, entrepreneurship and technology community group in Southern Israel. Jonathan has also worked as a caseworker and project leader for Compass Startup & Legal Clinic in Montreal. Finally, during his first summer with the firm in 2019, Jonathan co-led a project dedicated to furthering knowledge among the firm's students in emerging technology law matters.
Outside of the legal domain, Jonathan served in the Canadian Forces as an infantry reservist for about five years. He was also engaged in several entrepreneurial activities. Notably, he cofounded a business law student association at Concordia and a website development company. Finally, Jonathan continues to play guitar professionally. His band performed at the 2014 and 2015 editions of the Festival International de Jazz in Montreal.
