Jamie is a partner in the Real Property and Planning Group in our Toronto office. He is recognized for his in-depth knowledge, and broad-based practice transactional practice that incorporates all aspects of commercial real estate, construction, energy, P3 and infrastructure transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, development, project financing, leasing, merger and acquisition transactions and securities offerings. He is well known for his particular experience in complex project development transactions across a number of sectors including, affordable housing, retail, hospitality, office tower construction, multi-residential, industrial and power generation.
Clients appreciate his multidisciplinary expertise and his responsive, approachable nature. Jamie’s deep understanding of the market helps ensure a seamless and effective experience for all parties. In support of his practice, he also regularly advises clients on all sides of the construction pyramid in the negotiation and review of construction contracts, procurement documentation, CCDC contracts and operation and maintenance agreements.
Jamie obtained his LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario in 2003 and his B.A. in Economics in 2000. He completed the Canadian Securities Course in 1997, the Derivatives Fundamentals Course in 2000 and Energy Markets Risk Analysis in 2003. Jamie has also completed the Osgoode Hall Certificate in Construction Law.
Jamie was called to the Ontario bar in 2004. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association and the Ontario Bar Association’s Real Property Law (Executive Member 2019-2020) and Construction Law sections. He is also a member of the Toronto Construction Association, the Canadian Wind Energy Association and the Canadian Solar Industry Association.
