Héloïse Apestéguy-Reux is an associate in our Business Law Group in Toronto. She practices primarily in our Energy Group, with a focus on both regulatory and corporate-commercial matters.
Ms. Apestéguy-Reux advises a wide range of clients across the energy sector. Ms. Apestéguy-Reux’s experience includes:
- Representing generators, wholesalers, transmitters and local distribution companies before the Ontario Energy Board;
- Advising electricity sector clients in respect of electricity regulatory matters and electricity legislation in Ontario;
- Advising energy market participants in respect of compliance with the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) market rules and representing those clients in electricity market compliance proceedings;
- Advising developers and lenders in respect of large-scale wind and solar power projects, including power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, due diligence matters and permitting.
Ms. Apestéguy-Reux received her LLB and BCL from McGill University in 2011, completing her final semester of legal studies on exchange at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris (Sciences Po). In 2007, Ms. Apestéguy-Reux completed an Honours BA (High Distinction) in International Relations and Political Science at the University of Toronto.
Ms. Apestéguy-Reux was called to the Ontario bar in 2012. She is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association and the Ontario Bar Association, and is also on the Executive of the Toronto Chapter of Young Professionals in Energy.
