Heather was born and raised in Calgary, AB. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with a minor in Political Science from the University of Victoria, spending a term of her studies on exchange at Sciences Po in Paris. While living in Victoria, Heather worked as an administrative volunteer for NEED2, a local suicide prevention organization.
While studying at the Peter A. Allard School of Law (UBC), Heather served as Co-President of the Allard Law Women’s Caucus and as Project Lead for her placement at the Legal Services Society through Pro Bono Students Canada. She also volunteered as an Assistant Editor at the UBC Law Review and as an instructor for the Legal Education Outreach Program. In her final year of law school, Heather participated in the Judicial Externship Program, conducting legal research for various judges at the British Columbia Provincial Court.
In her spare time, Heather enjoys reading, taking photographs, and listening to true crime podcasts.
