Hakim Kassam is the Director of Professional Resources for McCarthy Tetrault’s Toronto office, where he is responsible for the firm’s student programs. Working with the firm’s national and local leadership, Hakim focuses on student recruitment, integration, programming, feedback and advancement. Hakim’s approach is shaped by the firm’s core objectives of providing exceptional client service, while promoting equity, diversity and inclusion within the firm and among the legal profession.
Prior to joining the Professional Resources team, Hakim practiced as an associate in the firm’s litigation group. As an associate, Hakim enjoyed mentoring students and junior lawyers and participating in the firm’s student recruitment initiatives. Hakim joined McCarthy Tetrault as a summer student in 2014, and obtained his J.D. from Windsor Law in 2015. Hakim is called to the Ontario bar (2016) and is a member of the Ontario Bar Association and Canadian Bar Association.
In his spare time, Hakim enjoys making his favourite recipes from old Italian cookbooks, dining with family and friends, and rooting for the home team (Jays, Raptors, Leafs).
