Eriq Yu recently completed his JD at Osgoode Hall Law School and an LLM semester at Tsinghua University, Beijing. Prior to law school, Eriq served with the Canadian Forces Intelligence Branch in Electronic Warfare and continues to maintain a keen interest in technology and information security. Eriq previously operated an IT consulting firm serving corporate and government clients and continues to be involved in tech entrepreneurship.
While at Osgoode, Eriq was involved in both advocacy and public interest endeavours. Eriq was a finalist in the Lerners LLP Cup Moot and worked to secure land tenure for squatter communities across rural Cambodia for which he received the Paliare Roland Rosenberg Rothstein LLP Award. At the Human Rights Legal Support Centre, Eriq assisted with files on a range of matters reaching the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.
In his free time, Eriq enjoys travelling, mountaineering, and darkroom printing.
