Emily holds a Master of Science in Human Health and Nutritional Sciences and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biological Science from the University of Guelph. During her graduate degree she worked on a human clinical trial and was an undergraduate teaching assistant for a first-year biology course. Before starting law school, she worked as a medical claims examiner which sparked her interest in insurance law.
Since starting law school, she has served on the executive team for the Health Law Students’ Association and volunteered with Pro Bono Dalhousie. This year, she was an Upper Year Buddy – a program designed to mentor and support incoming 1L students.
In her spare time, she enjoys taking spin classes, watching stand-up comedy and has recently gotten into baking.
