Ella Hantho is an associate in the Business Law Group in Toronto. She maintains a general corporate and commercial practice, with experience in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and technology matters.
Ella completed her J.D. at the Schulich School of Law, Dalhousie University, and her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Philosophy from Queen’s University. Her previous experience includes working at McCarthy Tétrault with the Clients & Markets team, and at a designated accounting body as a Firms Coordinator.
Ella is passionate about the technology sector. She is a contributing author for McCarthy Tétrault's chapter in the first edition of Artificial Intelligence, Law Over Borders Comparative Guide 2022. She is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional in Canada (CIPP/C). During law school, she supported innovative start-up companies at the Technology and Innovation Law Clinic, wrote case briefs on technology and privacy matters for a bi-weekly publication as a Research Assistant, and founded the Schulich Law & Technology Society.
