Deborah Kay is a law clerk in the Business Law Group in the Toronto office. Deborah assists clients in various areas of corporate and business law, including the formation of all corporate and non-corporate entities, reorganization and restructuring of internal corporate structure, incorporation/formation and organization of non-profit corporations and all other related matters. With expertise with the Federal and Ontario tax requirements, she assists clients in the proper establishment of businesses, in particular, businesses relating to non-profit organizations, including the registered charities, manufacturing, financial services and many other industries. Deborah blends technical knowledge with an understanding of operating a business to add value for her clients.

Experience

Deborah brings extensive expertise in all aspects of corporate law including mergers and acquisitions, corporate and tax reorganizations, due diligence and corporate proceedings under Ontario and Federal legislation for private, public, non-profit, foreign corporations and limited partnerships. Deborah is familiar with all Canadian province proceedings.

Certifications and Education

Deborah graduated from Durham College, with an Institute of Law Clerks Diploma. She also completed several university courses and attends various seminars and conferences on a regular basis with emphasis in corporate and securities law, not-for-profit corporations and professional development.
