Colleen Bonnyman is an associate in our Litigation Group in Calgary. She maintains a general corporate commercial litigation and dispute resolution practice. Colleen summered and articled with McCarthy Tétrault prior to becoming an associate.
Colleen received her Juris Doctor from the University of Calgary in 2020. During law school, she completed an exchange to Leiden University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with distinction from the University of Alberta. While attending law school, she volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada, tutored first year law students in contracts, tort, and crime, and was an editor for the Alberta Law Review. Colleen also completed an internship with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Nairobi, Kenya.
Colleen volunteers with Pro Bono Law Alberta on both the Civil Claims Duty Counsel Project and the Queen’s Bench Amicus Project, which provide legal assistance to self-represented litigants. She is also actively involved in the firm’s annual United Way campaign.
Colleen is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Calgary Bar Association.
In her spare time, Colleen loves to hike and downhill ski. She can also be found reading crime novels, watching NFL or NHL, and walking her family’s two dogs.
