Caine is an associate in McCarthy Tétrault’s National Tax Group and is based in the Toronto office. He maintains a general tax practice.
Prior to joining the firm, Caine clerked at the Tax Court of Canada, interned at the Department of Justice’s Tax Law Services Section, and summered at a boutique law firm.
Caine has a law degree from Queen’s University, a Master’s degree in Economics from McMaster University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (with great distinction) from the University of Ottawa. While in law school, Caine participated in the Bowman Tax Moot, was an editor of the Queen’s Law Journal, and worked for the Queen’s Business Law Clinic. He was also a research assistant for one of Canada’s leading tax law scholars.
Caine was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2023. He speaks English and has conversational fluency in French.
