Bohdana Tkachuk is a lawyer in our Litigation Group in Toronto. Bohdana’s practice focuses on complex intellectual property litigation, including cases proceeding under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations. Bohdana also provides strategic patent prosecution and regulatory advice on medicines (Notice of Compliance) and Patented Medicines Prices Review Board issues.
Bohdana has appeared before the Federal Court and the Federal Court of Appeal.
Before joining McCarthy Tétrault, Bohdana practiced IP litigation at a well-known IP litigation boutique and served as law clerk to the Honourable Justice David Stratas of the Federal Court of Appeal. In this role Bohdana assisted in deliberations on cases in the areas of IP, administrative law, immigration law, and tax law.
Bohdana earned her J.D. in 2015 at the University of New Brunswick, graduating with distinction. While at law school Bohdana received a number of prizes for high academic standing, stood on the Dean’s list each year and received the Law Faculty Prize on graduation, a prize awarded to the most outstanding member of the graduating class. Bohdana was also a research assistant to Professor Norman Siebrasse.
Prior to law school, Bohdana earned a Bachelor of Science with Honours in genes, genetics and biotechnology from the University of Toronto, graduating with high distinction.
Bohdana was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2016. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Advocates Society, and the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada.
