Antoine Messervier is an articling student in our Tax Group in Montréal. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Université Laval and a Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.) from the Peter A. Allard School of Law from the University of British Columbia (U.B.C.)

During his studies, Antoine served as a clerk for the Honourable Justice Jocelyn F. Rancourt at the Court of Appeal of Québec. Additionally, he was a research assistant for several professors in public, administrative and labour law. Prior to joining McCarthy Tétrault, Antoine also interned in the commercial litigation department of a boutique law firm.

Antoine’s academic results have earned him several distinctions. Notably, he is listed on the Honour Roll of Université Laval’s Faculty of Law and he is the recipient of the Kellough Tillinghast Nitikman Prize in Tax Law as the top graduating student in the LL.M. in Taxation program.

Antoine is actively involved in the tax community. He was a speaker at the 11th edition of the Andre-Lareau Symposium on Taxation where he received the first prize for his presentation on Foreign Entity Characterization and Québec Civil Law. Antoine was also a member of Université Laval’s Tax Law Committee.
