Anthony Sylvain is an associate in our Tax Group in Montréal. His practice focuses on tax planning, corporate tax and international taxation.
Before joining McCarthy Tétrault, Anthony was a senior consultant in international taxation at a large accounting firm and a researcher in international taxation for the Chaire de recherche en fiscalité et en finances publiques (CFFP) at Université de Sherbrooke’s business school. As part of his studies, he completed internships in the finance and legal affairs department at a major Quebec paper manufacturer, at another national law firm, and with a judge of the Superior Court of Quebec.
Anthony obtained his bachelor’s degree in civil law (LL.B.) with honours and a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from Université de Sherbrooke in 2016. He also passed the CFA Level I exam and was an exchange student at the Lyon Catholic University, where he studied in the LL.M. International Trade & Investment Law program. He is currently completing a Master of Laws, Taxation option (LL.M), in a joint program offered by HEC Montréal and Université de Montréal.
Anthony is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Association de planification fiscale et financière. He was called to the Québec Bar in 2018.
