McCarthy Tétrault Partners Martha Harrison, Raj Juneja, and Michael Rosenberg named among Canadian Lawyer's Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers in Canada for 2026

McCarthy Tétrault is pleased to announce that Partners Martha Harrison, Raj Juneja and Michael Rosenberg have been selected as three of Canadian Lawyer's Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers in Canada for 2026.
This annual list celebrates leaders who, in addition to being outstanding lawyers, are shaping the profession through exceptional leadership, innovative thinking and meaningful contributions to clients, communities and the broader legal landscape. The Top 25 recognizes lawyers whose work is influencing major business decisions, driving reform and helping shape how the law evolves in response to the issues facing Canadians today.
Martha and Raj were recognized for their influence in the Business category, which celebrates lawyers who are shaping the future of Canadian commerce through transformative transactions, cross-border investment and practical innovation in business. Michael was recognized in the Human Rights, Advocacy and Criminal category, which honours lawyers advancing reform and challenging systemic barriers through advocacy, litigation and coalition-building.
Martha is a Partner in our Toronto office, Co-Head of our International Trade & Investment Law Group and leader of our Firm's Advertising & Marketing Law Practice. Widely regarded as a national leader in Canadian trade policy, Martha advises clients on tariffs, sanctions, supply-chain regulation and cross-border investment in an increasingly complex global economy. As geopolitical developments and regulatory change continue to reshape international markets, she works closely with businesses to assess risk and navigate an evolving trade environment. In addition to advising clients on some of their most important business decisions, Martha is a seasoned author, sought-after speaker and frequent media commentator whose insights continue to shape public understanding of international trade and regulatory developments.
Raj is a Partner in our Toronto office and Co-Head of the Firm's National Tax Group. He is widely regarded as one of Canada's most influential tax practitioners and the architect of McCarthy Tétrault's market-leading National Tax Group, having built and led the practice into the largest and most sophisticated tax platform of any law firm in Canada. He recently advised Brookfield and La Caisse on their acquisition of Boralex Inc., National Bank of Canada on its acquisition of Canadian Western Bank, Energy Capital Partners on its recapitalization of GFL Environmental and a co-investor group on an equity investment in a new Canadian subsidiary of Rogers Communications Inc. Under his leadership, our Firm formed the first Tax team focused specifically on Charities and Non-Profits, and McCarthy Tétrault has become a market leader in complex domestic and cross-border tax planning, advising on many of the most significant transactions and restructurings in the Canadian market. Raj is consistently entrusted with the most complex, high-value and strategically sensitive tax mandates for leading global asset managers, private equity sponsors, pension funds and multinational corporations.
Michael is a litigation Partner in our Toronto office and Vice-Chair of the Firm's National Class Actions Group. His practice includes public-interest litigation focused on constitutional rights, access to justice and systemic reform. Michael recently secured significant victories in national class actions addressing housing conditions and long-term drinking water advisories in First Nations communities, advanced litigation concerning child welfare in Manitoba First Nations communities and successfully certified a landmark class action challenging police carding practices involving Black and Indigenous people. Through this work, Michael continues to deliver meaningful outcomes for underserved communities while contributing to the development of Canadian class action and constitutional law.
This recognition reflects the significant contributions Martha, Raj, and Michael have made to our Firm’s clients, the legal profession and the broader community.
