Join McCarthy Tétrault’s National Appellate Litigation Group as we discuss appeals of importance to the Canadian business community during the last quarter. Each session brings you up-to-date on recent appellate developments across Canada. Topics to be discussed this quarter include:

• Supreme Court of Canada: Do parties owe a duty of good faith in negotiating contractual renewals?
• Federal: Pre-placement and random alcohol and drug testing requirements imposed on workers in safety-critical positions.
• Ontario: Guidance on contractual indemnification notice and limitation issues.
• Québec: Racial profiling in traffic stops.
• West: The Alberta Court of Appeal addresses when a non-party to a contract can be bound by an arbitration provision.
