    • Matthew Cumming – Matt is the Managing Partner of McCarthy Tetrault’s New York Office. Matt is ranked as a leading Canadian lawyer with significant expertise on cross-border private equity, M&A and securities transactions across a number of different industries.
       
  • Panel Discussion – Key Political and Economic Issues for Canada in 2019 and Implications for U.S. Investors
     
    • Laura Dawson – Laura Dawson is the Director of the Wilson Center’s Canada Institute. Named one of Canada’s Top 100 foreign policy influencers by the Hill Times, Laura is a speaker, writer and thought-leader on Canada-U.S., NAFTA, TPP and international trade issues. Laura currently serves as a member of Canada’s Deputy Minister’s Advisory Committee on Trade.
       
    • Jean Charest – Jean is one of Canada’s best known political figures, with a public service career spanning almost 30 years, including as Deputy Prime Minister of Canada, federal cabinet minister and Premier of Quebec from 2003 to 2012. Jean is now Partner at McCarthy Tétrault.
       
    • Wayne Wouters – Wayne is the former Clerk of the Privy Council of Canada, encompassing the roles of Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister, Secretary to the Cabinet and Head of the Public Service, and has four decades of public service. Wayne is now Strategic and Policy Advisor at McCarthy Tétrault.
       
    • Paul Zed – Paul has had a highly distinguished career in business, politics and law, including as a three-time elected federal Member of Parliament. Paul is now Counsel and Strategic Advisor at McCarthy Tétrault.
       
    • Jason Gudofsky – Jason has provided strategic counsel to clients for over twenty years regarding the application of the Competition Act and the Investment Canada Act to their transactions, including some of the most significant, complex and high profile domestic and global transactions.
