Celebrating Pride | A Keynote with Olympic Champion Mark Tewksbury

McCarthy Tétrault is pleased to invite you to a special Pride season keynote featuring Mark Tewksbury, Companion of the Order of Canada (C.C.), Olympic champion, and one of Canada’s most respected voices on leadership, inclusion and courage.

An Olympic champion who captured the world’s attention at the Barcelona Games, Mark’s legacy extends far beyond the pool. Mark has played a pivotal role in advancing LGBTQ2S+ inclusion in sport and society, using his platform to challenge discrimination and mentor athletes around the world.

Join us for an engaging talk from Mark Tewksbury, Canada’s first openly gay sports hero and advocate for safe and ethical sport. Drawing on his remarkable journey - from athlete to advocate, Mark will reflect on the power of authenticity, the difference allies make, and the power of speaking up, even when it comes at personal cost. 

This keynote will offer practical insights and actionable takeaways for lawyers, focusing on how the principles of inclusion, leadership, and advocacy can be applied within legal practice and law firm environments. Attendees will gain strategies to foster more inclusive workplaces, support colleagues and clients from diverse backgrounds, and implement best practices for advancing equity and belonging in the legal profession.
