McCarthy Tétrault Partner Forging New Ground for IP Mediation in Canada

Brian D. Edmonds, a highly respected intellectual property (IP) partner, has co-founded IP Neutrals of Canada, an organization whose mission is to promote mediation as an alternative to litigation in the area of IP. As a result of rule changes in the Ontario Superior Court and initiatives in the Federal Court, the frequency of mediation in IP disputes is expected to increase. Brian’s goal as an Approved Neutral is to provide clients with mediation services that will assist them in the efficient and cost-effective resolution of IP disputes. In addition to his role with IP Neutrals of Canada, Brian has been appointed to the Panel of Neutrals of the International Trademark Association and to the List of Mediators of the World Intellectual Property Organization’s Arbitration and Mediation Centre.
