City of Toronto New City-Wide Zoning By-Law: Important Reminder
The City of Toronto website indicates that the proposed new city-wide comprehensive zoning by-law is scheduled to be considered by Council at its meeting commencing April 3, 2013. In the event that the enactment of this by-law affects your interests, please be advised that you will not be able to appeal the by-law unless you made oral submissions at the now concluded statutory public meeting or made or make written submissions to Council prior to enactment. As well, as mentioned in our earlier e-Alert on that matter, the failure to make submissions as described above also impairs your ability to seek party status at any subsequent hearing as may take place. In this regard, please note that Council may make changes to the proposed new by-law at the time of enactment, and any third party who appeals the new by-law may seek amendments that affect your interests at the hearing of the appeal.
