Manitoba First Nation proposes class action against federal government for housing crisis in reserve communities

On June 12, 2023, Chief Elvin Flett of St. Theresa Point First Nation in Manitoba proposed a national class action lawsuit against the federal government for failing to address the housing crisis on reserves. Chief Flett is seeking C$5 billion and an order that the federal government provide adequate housing on First Nations reserves.
