As the Manager, Business Development, you will:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the strategic marketing and business development plans and programs to support regional Firm practice groups
  • Work closely with the assigned practice and industry groups as the Clients & Markets Lead on marketing and business development initiatives
  • Support lawyers on business development pursuits
  • Review market and industry research and intelligence to identify new client or marketing and business development opportunities
  • Prepare and assist with Requests for Proposals (RFPs), proposals and pitch opportunities, including advising on strategy, and sharing best practices with lawyers
  • Advise and assist with sponsorship recommendations. Work with the Coordinator, Clients & Markets in Quebec to mange and improve the sponsorship approval process to ensure ROI on sponsorship and increase strategic involvements
  • Work closely with the Director, Clients & Markets (Quebec) to manage regional marketing and business development initiatives and projects as they arise
  • Provide client and prospect team support as required
  • Ensure deliverables are tracked and reported as required
  • Assist with or lead specific regional business development initiatives as required

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years as a people leader
  • Experience in a professional services or law firm is an asset
  • Post-secondary education in business, marketing, or a related field
  • Bilingual (French/English) – exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Proactive self-started with superior organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Persuasive approach combined with good interpersonal skills, tenacity and the ability to command the respect of others
  • Process-driven with excellent project and time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and work under pressure and adhere to challenging deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability and drive to deliver a first class product
  • Strong people management skills, including delivering feedback, coaching, support and recognition on a regular basis
  • Knowledge of a sales pipeline/process
