RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This role provides support to e-Discovery Counsel and Project Managers, assisting with various e-discovery and litigation tasks that include, but are not limited to:
  • Support projects teams with all aspects of document production and review, including crafting searches, generating batches, tagging, linking, generating search term reports, creating fields, tagging panels and views, and data export into Relativity and other eDiscovery software;
  • Assist in the management of new project intake; prepare standard template letters/ agreements/pleadings;
  • Review and assist in the creation of project training materials,
  • Offer coordination support to off-site legal teams to complete projects such as printing, scanning etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Law Clerk, Paralegal or Legal Administration diploma is preferred
  • 3-5 yeas of experience as a litigation law clerk or 5 – 7 years experience as a litigation assistant is preferred
  • A working knowledge of various litigation support and E-Discovery software applications
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Suite, including Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Solid understanding of the Litigation process, specifically the Document Discovery Phase, Court Rules and Practices related to electronic document discovery
  • Knowledge of the EDRM (Electronic Document Discovery Reference Model)
  • Knowledge of the Sedona Canada Principles
  • Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise judgment to resolve related issues
  • Extreme accuracy with high attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) when communicating with lawyers, clients, staff and third parties
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize a heavy workload and being meticulous with follow up
  • The ability to take ownership of tasks, take initiative, establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives
  • Time management skills with the ability to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines
  • The ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
