McCarthy Tétrault’s Emily MacKinnon receives UBC’s 2014 Young Alumnus Award

Vancouver, November 20, 2014 – McCarthy Tétrault is delighted to announce that associate Emily MacKinnon was recognized by the University of British Columbia (UBC) with the 2014 Young Alumnus Award during their Achievement Awards gala. Ms. MacKinnon was honoured as “a young alumnus whose accomplishments are of such excellence that they provide inspiration and leadership to students and other young alumni.”

Ms. MacKinnon, a multiple recipient of awards from UBC, is a member of the firm’s Litigation Group in Vancouver and her practice includes advising on both commercial and public law matters. She is an advocate of social justice, volunteers with organizations that empower those living with HIV/AIDS, performs with a local Vancouver opera company, is a board member of the Vancouver Book and Magazine Festival, and is a member of the Canadian Forces communications reserve.
