McCarthy Tétrault welcomes new partner Scott Chalmers
Toronto, August 24, 2015 — McCarthy Tétrault is pleased to welcome Scott Chalmers as a partner based in our Toronto office. Mr. Chalmers has practised as a senior construction lawyer with international law firms in Houston, Texas, London, England, and Sydney, Australia and will bring his practical construction industry and international project experience to bear as leader of the firm’s National Construction Group.

Mr. Chalmers has in-depth experience on a wide array of projects globally in the oil & gas, petrochemicals, LNG, power (nuclear, gas, coal, renewables), water, mining and metals, rail, road, shipbuilding and architecture sectors. He advises owners, sponsors and lenders on all aspects of construction matters, including pre-contract negotiation, contract administration and post contract dispute resolution, and drafting and advising upon all types of construction, consultancy, supply, procurement, security and technology licensing contracts. Prior to entering law school Mr. Chalmers was an architect in Australia and Canada. He brings practical construction industry experience as a consultant, employer’s representative and contract administrator.
