McCarthy Tétrault Supports Calgary Gala Honouring Canada’s Most Powerful Women
Calgary, March 6, 2012 — McCarthy Tétrault is powering up its support for women in business, returning for a second year as co-presenting sponsor of the Women’s Executive Network (WXN) 2012 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Summit and Awards Gala Calgary.
"We are thrilled to be involved in these events again; we are very proud of our clients and lawyers who are past and current WXN honourees," said Cathy Samuel, a partner with the firm’s Business Law Group in Calgary. "This sponsorship is a reflection of the firm's long-standing and ongoing commitment to promoting women in business."
The firm’s involvement with WXN doesn’t end with its sponsorship. Several McCarthy Tétrault partners have been recipients of the Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Awards in the Professionals category. McCarthy Tétrault partner Godyne Sibay was recognized in 2011. Previous McCarthy Tétrault winners include Lisa Vogt, Barbara Boake, Gabrielle Richards and Kirby Chown, now retired.
McCarthy Tétrault has made diversity one of its highest priorities and has a history of supporting and advocating for women in the legal sector. This sponsorship is just one example of how it celebrates achievement and diversity in Canadian business.
The Summit and Awards Gala, organized by the WXN, will be held at the Westin Calgary on March 8.
