McCarthy Tétrault Strengthens Financial Services Regulatory and Market Conduct Expertise with Addition of Lucie Tedesco

Toronto, September 3, 2019 –  McCarthy Tétrault is pleased to welcome Lucie Tedesco as Senior Counsel in in the firm’s National Financial Services Group. 

Lucie is the former Commissioner of the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (“FCAC") and has over 24 years’ experience in the financial services and regulatory environment. Lucie has also served as a member of the federal Financial Institutions Supervisory Committee (FISC), as an ex-officio board member of the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC), as board member of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) and as Chair of the International Financial Consumer Organisation (FinCoNet), an international organization of supervisory authorities responsible for financial consumer protection. She exemplifies McCarthy Tetrault’s strategic priority to deepen support for clients in the financial services industry both in Canada and abroad.

Lucie’s practice focuses on providing strategic advice in the areas of financial regulation and providing counsel to sectors that are subject to market conduct requirements, including banking, credit, insurance, securities and telecommunications. She also advises on regulatory matters related to payments and external complaints bodies. Being fluently bilingual, Lucie is looking forward to assisting our clients on a national basis.
