McCarthy Tétrault Bolsters its Indirect Tax Practice With New Counsel Simon Douville
McCarthy Tétrault welcomes Simon Douville as a counsel in the Toronto Office’s Tax Group. Simon has particular expertise in commodity taxation, including GST/HST, Québec Sales Tax and provincial sales taxes.
Simon will enhance McCarthy Tétrault’s Tax Group’s service offerings for clients on a wide range of matters requiring creative and innovative business solutions to manage their indirect tax obligations. He provides astute tax planning and consulting advice in corporate reorganizations, M&A, and cross-border transactions and advises businesses on their indirect obligations in the course of their operations. Simon will also work closely with our tax controversy and dispute resolution team to help businesses navigate their tax litigation matters. While Simon’s expertise in indirect taxes is broad, he has significant experience in advising taxpayers in the financial services sector on their HST obligations and disputes and is one of the leading experts in Canada in this area.
