Herman Van Ommen Is Appointed McCarthy Tétrault’s British Columbia Regional Managing Partner

Toronto, May 24, 2012 — McCarthy Tétrault is delighted to announce that Herman Van Ommen, a partner in the firm’s Litigation Group, has been ratified as the firm’s new Regional Managing Partner of British Columbia. Mr. Van Ommen succeeds Matthew Peters, who has taken on the senior leadership role of National Leader, Markets, while continuing his practice as a partner of the Technology Group.

Mr. Van Ommen’s litigation practice includes real estate and corporate litigation, as well as professional discipline proceedings. He is also a Bencher of the Law Society of British Columbia and is a frequent speaker on topics related to ethical issues in business and legal practices. Mr. Van Ommen obtained his LLB in 1984 from the University of Victoria. He was called to the British Columbia bar in 1985.
