Four McCarthy Tétrault lawyers honoured as 2024 Lexpert Rising Stars

Four of our lawyers have been recognized as 2024 Lexpert Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40. This prestigious award highlights legal professionals who have demonstrated excellent client service and made meaningful contributions to their communities and the legal profession throughout their careers. Our recognized lawyers are Charles-Antoine Soulière, Jade Buchanan, Alexandra Cocks and Moya Graham, each of whom has shown skill and dedication to their craft and communities.

Clients describe Jade as “results-oriented”, “exceptionally responsive” and “down-to-earth”. In addition to being a major part of our Technology Group, Jade has been instrumental in developing our Cyber/Data Group. As a member of the board of the Canadian Technology Law Association, Jade gives back to the profession through mentorship, training and co-chairing the Privacy and Cybersecurity Committee. Outside of law, Jade carries on a family tradition of community leadership, with contributions that include volunteering with Vancouver’s School Streets and Adopt-a-Block programs and co-founding traffic safety organization Vision Zero Vancouver.

A partner in our Vancouver Litigation Group, Alexandra is recognized for her leadership in complex commercial litigation, arbitration, and class actions. Moya is a partner in our Litigation Group in Toronto. She specializes in complex corporate and commercial disputes. Moya has appeared before all levels of Court including the Supreme Court of Canada. She is a trial lawyer with experience across critical sectors such as technology, infrastructure, and energy. Her industry knowledge and fearless advocacy set her apart. Recognized in top legal directories for her track record of delivering for clients in difficult situations, Moya is lauded for her ability to tackle multifaceted legal challenges and deliver common sense advice in complex scenarios. In the Courtroom, Moya is known for thinking several steps ahead and executing on her strategy. For nearly a decade, Moya has taught a trial advocacy course to second- and third-year law students at Queen’s Law. Her commitment to the profession includes contributions to leading legal publications and number of leadership roles within the Ontario Bar Association, Civil Litigation section.
