David E. Roberge, partner at McCarthy Tétrault, receives the 2021 Paris-Québec Award from Justice Pro Bono Québec and the Barreau de Paris Solidarité

McCarthy Tétrault celebrates Mr. David E. Roberge, partner in the Firm’s Montreal litigation group, on winning the 2021 Paris-Quebec Award, in recognition of his  numerous pro bono contributions.

The Paris-Québec Award recognizes Mr. Roberge's career-long pro bono work, particularly his legal advice to people living with HIV-AIDS, his collaboration with Avocats sans frontières in Haiti, and his involvement in issues of equality with LGBTQ communities.

The ceremony organized by the Barreau de Paris Solidarité took place on October 11, 2021 at the Paris City Hall. The award was presented by Ms. Lisa Marlene Ntibayindusha, Senior Advisor for Political Affairs and Cooperation of the Délégation générale du Québec in Paris. The director general of Justice Pro Bono, Ms. Anne-Marie Santorineos, was also present.

Justice Pro Bono will also hold a celebratory evening with the Barreau du Québec on November 16, in Montreal.

For the second year in a row, the Paris-Québec Award was given to laureates from Paris and Quebec, highlighting a pro bono project that embodies at least one of the values ​​of La Francophonie: solidarity, peace, democracy, human rights, the right to education or cultural diversity.

Justice Pro Bono is a non-profit organization created in 2008 by the Barreau du Québec. Its mission is to mobilize the legal community to give expertise and time to individuals and Québec NPOs who do not have access to legal services.
