Carole Piovesan chosen as Innovation Expert

| 8 minutes

Toronto – August 10, 2018. The Government of Canada recently announced litigation associate Carole Piovesan as one of six Canadian innovation experts to lead roundtable discussions on the future of digital and data transformation in Canada.

Across all industries, in every sector, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is fundamentally transforming the way companies operate and connect with their customers. To support ongoing innovation, the Government of Canada recently launched a national consultation on digital and data transformation. This initiative will help the government gain an in-depth understanding of the economic opportunities brought on by innovation, alongside the data and privacy rights of Canadians.

As an innovation expert, Carole will be at the centre of informing the government’s understanding of how Canadians want to drive innovation in a data economy, prepare for the future of work and ensure trust and confidence in how data is used.

Carole is a recognized thought-leader in the intersection between AI and law. She is the co-lead of the firm’s national Cybersecurity, Privacy and Data Management group and consults with clients on privacy, data security and the integration of AI technology.
