Brenda Swick Authors “Chapter 8 - Canada” in "The International Comparative Legal Guide to Public Procurement 2015"

Toronto, January 1, 2015 — Brenda C. Swick, co-chair of McCarthy Tétrault’s national Procurement Group, has written “Chapter 8 – Canada” for The International Comparative Legal Guide to Public Procurement 2015. The Guide provides a practical analysis of topical cross-border issues and country-specific guidance on public procurement law and practice worldwide. Ms. Swick is one of Canada’s leading experts on the law of government contracting and on trade agreements relating to government procurement. She has represented clients in numerous government contracting disputes, including before the Canadian International Trade Tribunal, the Federal Court of Canada, and provincial tribunals and courts. She advises public and private sector clients on complex public procurement law matters involving design of procurement processes, drafting procurement documents, and terms and conditions of procurements, and she represents those entities in legal challenges to procurement processes and contracts awards. She holds the Osgoode Hall Law School Certificate in Public Procurement.

With over 20 years of experience dealing with government contracting issues, Ms. Swick has advised clients across the globe on the full spectrum of defence, public works and infrastructure contracts.
