Hewlett Packard Acquires ActiveState’s Stackato Business

On September 2, 2015, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company, or HP, completed its acquisition of ActiveState Software Inc.’s Stackato business. Stackato is an enterprise-ready Platform as a Service (PaaS) solution with Cloud Foundry at its core.

Headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, ActiveState is a is a global provider of software application development and management solutions. ActiveState’s products include ActivePerl, ActivePython and ActiveTcl dynamic language distributions and developer tools such as the popular Komodo Edit and Komodo IDE. Its customers and partners include companies across many industries, including telecommunications, aerospace, software, financial services and CPG.

Headquartered in Palo Alto, California, HP is a leading global provider of products, technologies, software, solutions and services to individual consumers, small- and medium-sized businesses and large enterprises, including customers in the government, health and education sectors. HP’s shares are listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “HPQ”.
