Sheridan College and City of Mississauga sign a 95 year ground lease agreement
January 23, 2014
On January 23, 2014, the City of Mississauga and Sheridan College announced they had signed a 95 year ground lease agreement for prime downtown City owned lands allowing for the establishment of Sheridan’s phase two building of the Hazel McCallion Campus. The phase two building is slated to open in the fall of 2016 on the existing campus, located at Duke of York Blvd. between Prince of Wales Dr. and Rathburn Rd. W., across from Square One.
The new facility is planned to feature state-of-the-art classrooms, computer laboratories, a creativity centre, faculty offices, and a gallery space to celebrate student creativity and innovation.
The building will compliment Sheridan’s current HMC facility, which opened in September 2011, providing a collaborative learning environment that reflects Sheridan’s “creative campus” concept.
