Marissa Caldwell completed her J.D. at Western University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (with Honours) in Radio and Television Production from Ryerson University. Prior to Law School, Marissa worked in documentary film production, television production, and founded a production company specializing in corporate and web-based video.

At Western Law, Marissa was a program manager at Sport Solution, a legal clinic that assists Canada's Olympic and National Team athletes navigate legal issues such as team selection, funding, doping, and athlete-National Sport Organization (NSO) contract disputes. Through the clinic, Marissa had the opportunity to advocate on behalf of athletes during the internal NSO dispute resolution process through to any appeals before the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada's tribunal.

In her free time, Marissa stays active by cycling, hiking, and playing hockey and basketball. She enjoys attending film screenings, comedy shows, and seeing live music
