Jim was a highly successful tax lawyer and an exceptional person, with a great sense of humour. We are proud of his contributions to McCarthy Tétrault and we feel very lucky to have had him in our midst. He was a close friend to many in our firm and he contributed greatly to the strength of our team. Jim touched many people with his devotion to his family and his courage. We will miss him dearly.

Edmonds, a highly respected intellectual property partner, is also a co-founder of IP Neutrals of Canada, an organization whose mission is to promote mediation as an alternative to litigation. As a result of rule changes in the Ontario Superior Court and initiatives in the Federal Court, it is expected that mediation of IP disputes will increase in frequency. "As an Approved Neutral, my goal is to provide clients with mediation services that will assist them in the efficient and cost-effective resolution of IP disputes," says Brian.
