Madeleine Renaud of McCarthy Tétrault receives Order of Merit award from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law

Montréal, September 14, 2011 — McCarthy Tétrault congratulates Madeleine Renaud, who has been awarded the Order of Merit by the Faculty of Law, Civil Law Section of the University of Ottawa. Ms. Renaud is a partner in the firm’s Montréal office and a leading practitioner in Canadian competition law, as well as administrative and regulatory law. A former Chair of the Canadian Bar Association’s National Section of Competition Law, Ms. Renaud was one of the first lawyers to be awarded the honorary title of "Advocatus Emeritus" by the Québec Bar.

The Order of Merit is the highest distinction conferred on graduates of the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law. The award recognizes alumni for their outstanding contributions to the legal profession, exceptional social involvement, and other professional achievements and significant accomplishments. Ms. Renaud was honoured last week with two other alumni of the Faculty of Law.
